So I'm on my way to Vietnam in about 45 minutes and I thought I'd share a little something I did on my seminar yesterday at District 13.

I demonstrated the usefulness of momentum and pulling smoothly, by making the participants all line up in a line.

I named them;

1. Aggression
2. Power
3. Speed
4. Explosiveness
5. Momentum

I had "aggression, power, speed, explosiveness" stand in front of "momentum". However, I let momentum have a slight jog. The moment she stepped on the same line as the other 4, they would all sprint across.

Every single time "momentum" finished the end line fastest albeit she was never allowed to sprint at top speed.

This was the illustrate why any of the other elements, without having a smooth, single direction, "rolling" was going to cause them to "lose. It was also to show them, if you don't have the momentum down to a pat, you can't use all the other elements of explosive/aggressiveness, etc to your advantage.

After that, when everybody had a feel of what life was as "momentum", I made them go back to their barbells. This time, instead of aggressively trying to "knock" or "hit" or "kick" their bar, they just stayed over, pulled, and once the bar passed their knees, they gently accelerated.

Everyone pulled their bars higher, received more comfortably, but above all, just had more control. Once they figured that out, I let them pull more powerfully and we had a nice few PRs.

This is just one of the many teaching mechanisms you can use to inject a bit of fun, and make people learn from different "directions".

Have a good Monday ahead!
